Book Binding Processing Technology Discussion (2)

Third, the factors affecting the adhesive fastness of the main and the service life

Liner bonding fastness and service life and the type of liner, folding paper sheet folding degree and breaking strength, the width of retraction when sticking the liner, the width of the liner and signature bonding (plasma) And the type of glue is closely related.

The type of liner. According to the relevant information, the use of ordinary full-paper lining books has the shortest service life (the durability of multiple opening and closing).
Books that use liners to line the pages, depending on the type of liner material used, are two to eight times longer than books that use regular full-paper liners.

The strength of the liner sheet. The effect on the useful life of a book is the folding endurance and breaking length of the paper for the liner. According to the provisions of QIB-323-80 of the Ministry of Industry, the degree of folding resistance (number of reciprocations) of the kraft paper used for hardcover books and album inserts is not less than 10 times in a transverse direction, and the length of the fracture (vertical and horizontal average) is not less than 2200m.

The width of the indent when the page is glued. For ordinary full-paper liners and pack liner liners, the width of the indented page is of great importance for the useful life of the hardcover book. When the liner is pasted without indentation (along with the back of the book) or when the indent width is less than 0.5 mm, the longest life of the book is as shown in Figure 3-2. However, when the sewing thread is used, because of the fear that the thread lock needle penetrates the crease of the backing sheet, when the backing sheet is pasted, it should be retracted by 1 to 1.5 mm from the booklet crease. Therefore, the service life of the book will be reduced. 3 to 15 times.

The width of the padding (slurry). Bonding lining should be strictly adhered to the specified width. The width of the bond is too narrow and the backing sheet is poorly bonded; the width of the bond is too wide. When the book is opened and closed, the backing sheet is fastened to the front leaflet; both of these conditions will reduce the useful life of the book.

The type of glue. Adhesive liners are commonly used latex and have a strong adhesive fastness.

Fourth, insert type

According to the position of the interleaf in the book and the method of sticking with the book, it can be divided into two types, a simple insert and a complex insert.

Simple inserts. The following cases are simple inserts: (1) the open and closed pages, lining pages and illustrations that are pasted in front of or behind the signature, as shown in Figure 3-3a and Figure 3-3e; (2) pasted the revised pages; (3) The pages attached in the middle of the crease are shown in Fig. 3-3d and Fig. 3-3f; (4) the cover page, as shown in Fig. 3-3b; (5) the insert, as shown in Fig. 3-3c.

Complex inserts. The following situations are complex inserts: (1) sticker illustrations of thin paper; (2) adhesive pages with decorative edges; (3) pasting inserts with cut edges; (4) sticking pages on shafts, as shown in Fig. 3 -3g shown; (5) Paste the insert on the cardboard, as shown in Figure 3-3h; (6) Paste the insert wider and longer than the book block, as shown in Figure 3-3i, Figure 3-3j, Figure 3 3k shows.
