Tips for converting a four-color chart to a two-color chart

After the publisher launched a series of bestsellers, they often subdivided the market on the basis of this, and launched a lower-cost bicolor chart, thus occupying more market share. A bicolor diagram means that only two spot colors are printed in the printing process, typically a black version plus another spot color version. The spot color version requires rich layers and full tone; the black version requires sharp contrasts and steep gradations.

When switching to two-color graphics, if you take two channels as the black version and the spot color version in photoshop software Y, M, C, and K color channels, it will not work. Because of the variety of images, the distribution of four-color channels with pure colors and inter-tones as the main tone is very uneven. If any two-tone version is taken, there may be a loss of gradation and tone. Here, we introduce a simple method: select the four-color mixing channel, select the entire image (selec All), use the copy command (Copy), and then select the channel for the spot color version and use the Paste command (Paste). The version can meet the requirements of the complete level and tone of the image.
