The foreign three-layer corrugated boxes accounted for 90% of the market share, while corrugated cartons processed in China accounted for more than 80% of the five-layer boxes. According to statistics, China is now the second largest carton producer in the world after the United States. According to statistics in 2002, the annual output of corrugated paperboard in China is approximately 15 billion square meters (imported paper is not included). But why does the mature experience of others not work here? It may be mainly conception. Because many domestic commodity manufacturers still have their understanding of packaging in the traditional economic period, they think that my things (goods) are good, and the packaging must be solid and solid, and it does not matter to spend more than two layers of paper money. I personally believe that the implementation of the lightweighting principle is a systematic project. First of all, it needs to promote a large number of road, rail and waterway container transportation methods. Because the main tool for transporting commodities in developed countries is containers, corrugated cartons are placed in containers, which can reduce the compressive strength of packaging. At the same time, we will vigorously strengthen the study of packaging dynamics, improve the technological content of the carton and the rationality of the design. In foreign countries, packaging companies will design cartons of various categories for thousands of products for users to choose, which can reduce packaging costs, but also improve transport safety and save freight. Third, it is necessary to vigorously adopt modern mechanical transportation means and change the backward production mode of manual transportation, so as to eliminate users' concerns about rough handling. In addition, there may be an important reason that foreign "low weight" is based on "high intensity", because people's paper is basically all wood pulp, and our paper is basically straw pulp paper, so low Weight is difficult to achieve high strength.

Huang Shanxiang: The problem of paper has basically been solved. The current domestic paper grade quality is similar to foreign similar products. As long as we vigorously promote the "door-to-door" delivery mode of transport, vigorously optimize the packaging design, and promote the "low weight, high strength" strategic approach is entirely feasible. In Guangdong and other Coastal economically developed regions, the principle of “lightweighting” was fully implemented as early as the 1990s, and the effect was also very significant.

Although our paper resources are quite scarce, we still need to base ourselves on the domestic market to develop a variety of plant fiber pulp source papermaking. Such as reeds, cotton stalks, wheat straw, bagasse, etc., this type of herbaceous plants in our country is quite rich, can be said to be inexhaustible, is inexhaustible, is the best way to replace the lack of wood pulp resources.
