Analysis of the five major trends of cloud computing in the future

As we gain some experience with cloud computing, we hope to see a central trust system, an amazingly large database, and more. Here, the author summarizes five future trends of cloud computing for you.

First, the professional term "cloud computing" has fallen into the trap of computing. Although I have struggled with cloud computing for the past ten years, I am not sure if I like the term. In fact, the concept came before this term and it lasted longer than the term. In some cases, "cloud computing" will only become "computing", but it will also exist as a method of computing.

Second, we have begun to focus on "appropriate" and "functional" rather than exaggerated publicity. However, I will still see that many cloud plans are very unmatched with the operation of the enterprise, just like square nails are driven into circular holes. The culprit is exaggerated propaganda, which drives enterprises to move to cloud computing, but companies have not seriously considered whether their enterprises are truly suitable for cloud computing. As a result, the value of the enterprise is reduced or the project fails. We will find suitable cloud computing in a few years. We just need to learn from our failures and make better use of the cloud.

Third, security has moved into "central trust". This means we have to learn to manage identities in the enterprise and the cloud. We want to create a realm that can verify identity on the Internet, just like a driver's license verified by a local car manager. There will be a lot of clouds to deal with to meet the needs of individual login, so we need to ensure the security of identity.

Fourth, centralized data will become a major strategic advantage. We will become good at creating large databases to gather valuable information that people can use through public APIs, such as stock market behavior over the decades, or clinical data that can provide better patient care. These databases will use big data technologies like Hadoop and will reach unprecedented scale.

Fifth, mobile devices will become more powerful and more concentrated. It requires no brains. With the increase in mobile computing and dependence on the cloud that supports mobile applications, mobile devices will have more functions, but data will be stored in the cloud. Apple's iCloud is one of them.
